Bishop's Appreciation

There will be Bishop's appreciation on 2nd October 2011 at Emmasdale church in Lusaka.

Bishop Joe Imakando (l) has been a source of encouragement to the church, the nation and worldwide. He has sacrificed his time and resources to ensure God's work move forward. Thousands of peoples lives have been changed for the better through the weekly television programme known as the Hour of Blessing.

Bishop Imakando is the Presiding Bishop of Bread of life Church International, Chairperson of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia, he is an apostle, teacher, author, conference speaker, broadcaster, bridge builder and adviser whose ministry has taken him to many nations.

In 2010, Bishop Imakando was elected President of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA), an organization that has 10 Southern African countries affiliated to it.

THE POWER OF YOUR VOTE
Bishop Joe Imakando on Sunday 18th September preached a sermon in which he gave advice and guidelines on how to make an informed choice when voting. He encouraged the congregation to exercise their right by going to vote in numbers.

Ordination Sunday

Sunday 4th September 2011 Bread of Life International Word Explosion Conference was also characterized by ordination of four pastors as reverends.

Bishop Imakando has ordained the four pastors as reverends from the following Bread of Life branch churches: Pastor Simon Phiri (Kabwe), Pastor Peter Lungu (Chipata), Pastor Makiseni Bambe (Livingstone) and Pastor Shadreck Chisulo (Emmasdale main).

The Bishop informed the congregation to now receive these pastors as reverends: Eastern Province overseer as Rev. Peter Lungu whereas Southern Province overseer is ordained as Rev. Makiseni Bambe. Central province overseer is now ordained as Rev. Simon Phiri and Lusaka province overseer is ordained as Rev. Shadreck Chisulo.

School of Ministry 13th Graduation

Bread of life church International on Sunday 4th September 2011 held the 13th School of ministry graduation were 21 students graduated. This was after under going 1 year training. The School prepares men and women for effective work and ministry in the Lords vineyard, as it equips and makes them able leaders.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Presiding Bishop Joe Imakando (above), preached a message entitled, 'Growing into your ministry', Psalm 78:70-72. The Bishop emphasized that the graduating students should be faithful, how?

Accept your present calling. Do not despise the small beginnings.

Be diligent in your calling

Faithfulness leads to increased opportunities. God will test you with the little to see how faithful you will be. If not it will be taken away, Luke 16.10-12. If you are faithful God will promote you. You need to love people, be compassionate and touch them will it work well. Draw strength from God, failure to be faithful will delay your progress.

God is looking for people who are FAT = Faithful, Available and Teachable, concluded the Bishop.

This year’s graduation was held during the Word Explosion Conference. Bishop Joe Imakando was on hand to give certificates to the graduating students. Lewis Mumbi (above) scoped the best student award.

And School of ministry Principal Reverend Teddy Kamfwa (above) thanked God for grace that He has put on the School of ministry over the years. In accordance with the great commission of preaching the gospel to all men making them disciples, School has been an effective tool in the building of a strong and vibrant church as it seeks to uphold the word of God and prepare effective leaders.

So far 180 students have graduated from the school of ministry and are serving in various capacities in the church and throughout the country. However, the school faces a few challenges as it lack a library to enable students do adequate research and classes are only held twice a week in the evening. The good news is that the Blessing Centre is setting up a residential school with all necessary facilities that will bring an increase in attendance and quality of the school.

Before she joined the school of Ministry she didn’t know how to effectively minister and preach the word of God, after the school of ministry she now has an understanding of how to go about the work of God, she has ministered too many effectively.

Other students who used to leave tasks unfinished learned to finish them on time and they are now able leaders.

Couples and Marriage Ministry Graduation

Bread of Life Church International Couples and Marriage ministry had a graduation for 9 marriage counsellors who had under gone 20 weeks training in theory and field work. This program is designed to help train marriage and family counsellors with vision and authority that equips them for the work of God.

Newly ordained chairperson Elder Chilambwe told the congregation that Bread of Life conducts approximately 4 weddings a month thus the need for a strong and effective marriage and couples ministry.

Presiding Bishop for Bread of Life Church advised the counselors to depend on the Holy Spirit for council. And to be trustworthy. Are you the kind of counsellor that someone can confide in? asked the Bishop.

The church puts emphasis on having strong families as a foundation for a vibrant and growing church. The training is an ongoing programme of the church, in keeping abreast with the increasing needs and demands of an ever growing body of Christ.The couples were enrolled for training on basis of selection interviews and recommendations from their respective Districts of Emmasdale main church. The training was directed towards meeting the challenges faced in marriage and family relationship needs, for the purpose of strengthening them through Pre-marital and post-marital counselling.

Some of the topics covered include:
Marriage, relations, how to handle finances, gender and medical issues.

Giving the vote of thanks, Dr. Andrew Kumwenda (graduating from both Couples and School of Ministry) appreciated the Bishop for his continued leadership, training and innovation. The doctor also thanked all the teachers. Later on, they presented gifts of thanks to Pastor Bernadette and Bishop Imakando.

WORD EXPLOSION CONFERENCE 2011
Thousands Experience Eight Days of Unprecedented Blessing at Word Explosion.
Bread of Life Church International (BLCI) experienced an explosive Word Explosion Conference that changed the lives of thousands of people as evidenced by the outpouring of unprecedented blessings God had in store for them in the year 2011. Moreover, it was the first time the conference was held at the Blessing Centre, for eight consecutive days from Sunday 28th August to Sunday 4th September 2011. Many contacted the never experienced, seen or happened unprecedented blessing which was the theme for the conference.

When opening the conference BLCI presiding Bishop Joe Imakando promised the congregation that they would tap into unprecedented blessings as they were being ministered to at the conference. The Bishop dubbed the conference, the first fruit as it was the first conference to be held at the centre.
And when the Bishop preached from Deuteronomy 1:6-11 with a message titled: A THOUSAND TIMES MORE he assured that once the Blessing Centre was completed the auditorium would attract thousands of people from everywhere. The Bishop challenged the church that it was time to reallocate from a 2,000 auditorium at Emmasdale church to a 10,000 auditorium at the Blessing Center.

Delegates from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania and the United States of America (U.S.A) were among many people who travelled from afar to come and experience God's extraordinary blessings. And among the speakers were the host Bishop Joe Imakando, Bishop Tudor Bismark (Zimbabwe), Bishop Frank Appiah (U.S.A), Rev. George Adeboye (Nigeria), Apostle Siwale (Lift Him Up) and local preachers: Reverend George Chanda, Rev Elias Mponela, Pastor Peter Lungu, Pastor Bambe Makiseni and Pastor Steve Musonda.

Reverend Adeboye commonly known as "The walking Bible" because of his ability to quote and recite scripture took the conference to another level when he preached and taught with authority and clarity.

Salvation: On Sunday 4th September Bishop Frank Appiah led about 37 people who accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Beware of Pride
