| Breaking of Bread |
|
Bishop Joe Imakando on Sunday 25th July 2010 led the Emmasdale Bread of Life Church in a Holy Communion service. This was done in accordance with the instructions given by our Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 22. The church came in great numbers for this special service.
Before he broke bread, Bishop preached from Psalm 103:1-5 on the benefits of the Lord. The psalmist was reflecting on how the Lord had blessed and led him and he was over whelmed with Joy. As a child of God there are benefits accrued to you: Some of the Benefits: 1. Benefits of forgiveness (sins of omission and commission) vs. 3 2. Heals our diseases 3. The benefit of protection (Psalm 23) No weapon forged against us will prosper, as a child of God if you are leaving for the Lord you will not die prematurely. David died of old age because of Gods protection. There may be a lot of adversaries surrounding you but God s hand is upon you. God loves us with an everlasting love, God is rich in mercy, when David sinned he was given two options either to fall in the hands of men or God in Judgement, he chose to fall in the hands of God because he knew that God was full of mercy. He satisfies us with good things. He desires to bless us; He has good things in store for us. We are entitled to protection. The Lord is our refuge he is our strong tower. When we give our lives to Him we constantly walk in His mercies and our heritage is divine. When you part take in the breaking of bread you make yourself a part of the body of Christ with his full blessings bestowed upon you. In this year of fruitfulness breaking of bread makes you a worthy branch in the vine enabling your fruition.
